BIOGRAPHIES—PRODUCTION

Sean Garrity: WRITER, EDITOR, DIRECTOR

This is Sean's first full-length feature film and is the result of a two-year collaborative
effort which combined Sean's original story concept with input from Winnipeg's
improvisational theatre community.

Sean first studied film production and theory at Toronto’s York University and continued his studies at the Instituto de Arte Cinematografico de Avellaneda in Buenos Aires. There he produced and directed an experimental collage film which was played at film festivals in Avellaneda and Santa Fe, Argentina. After three years of living in Japan and traveling through Asia, Sean made a short abstract collage video in Japanese called
Departure.

He began his career in the film business in Winnipeg, directing, writing and producing
the award winning short films “Middle” (1998), “How Much for Half Kilo?” (1999) and
“Buenos Aires Souvenir” (2001). All three films have been awarded, all three have
played extensively at film festivals around the world, and all three have been sold to
broadcasters - in Canada and Europe. He then went on to create award-winning music
videos for Winnipeg artists such as the Wyrd Sisters and Richard Moody, and made
political documentaries with First Nation production companies, detailing Manitoba’s
maltreatment of its Aboriginal Peoples.

He is presently in development on his next two feature films, “Lucid” and “Photograph at
Full Moon Point”.

Sean lives in Winnipeg where he also works as a musician.
